Vocal Physiotherapy, or Voice Rehabilitation, is not just about singing and speaking. The techniques can be used to treat a variety of symptoms and conditions including chronic cough, a tickly throat, swallowing difficulties, and even throat pain.

Comprehensive assessment of not only the muscles and cartilages of the throat and neck, and how they interact, but also their relationship to the face, tongue/mouth, and shoulder girdle, are vital in diagnosing and treating conditions of the vocal tract.

A graded treatment program of release work and mobilisation, in conjunction with specific home exercises for the affected muscles, which is monitored and progressed over the treatment phase (typically 5 sessions), will help most clients regain their normal function.

Vocal Physiotherapists work with ENT, speech pathology, singing coaches, your regular Physio or Chiro, and of course the team at Jaw Physio, to ensure that your care is holistic.
Because what we do is area specific, you can continue with your normal care team, and we provide advice on any specific modifications you may need to keep moving in the right direction.

If you require additional postural or core strengthening work, we can refer you to a trusted colleague within our network who can assist you with an exercise program that aims to avoid flare ups of your unique issues.
